What I've found in a shipped box 2

They even don't have any specific shapes or contents... 

They are just some colour/shape experiments I did out of frames before drawing final images.

But sometimes I like them more than finished drawing...

They are so playful!

What I've found in a shipped box...

Recently I received 6 packages I had shipped from London.
After 2 months of long journey across the ocean, my treasure finally arrived home :)
I found so many paper scraps, worksheets I had made, notes etc...
And I'd like to share some of them here.

Almost end of 2013

Recently I did lots of drawings of cat :D

In these 2 quick images a cat is dreaming of winter/spring in a warm room.

Can you tell which is which?

I have developed this dreaming cat for a competition so hopefully I will upload the final drawing here soon.

Coming to the end of year...

I'm looking back 2013 and there were so many things happened(good or not... 

well, I'm happy to say mostly good things!)

There were lots of good-byes... but also nice meetings with new people :)) 

I have come back to Japan, and reached to the turning point of my life.

Coming to the end of year... Blog Update!

It was ages ago when I wrote on this blog last time... So many things happened since then, and now I am back in Japan...! For good!
But it doesn't mean that I haven't drawn anything... Actually I was working quite hard:))

This image is one of the ideas for new year's greeting card. As 2014 is the year of horse according to Chinese zodiac, I drew "rocking horse fly", a funny little bug from Through the looking-glass, and what Alice found there. I created many layers and put them on top of each other on Photoshop, like what I did for Collectors.

Soon everything will be covered with snow in my hometown... So I will have enough time to sit inside and draw, draw, draw...

My Illusionist used a magic!!

Yesterday I got an email from Macmillan Children Books, and they told me the judges selected my work, The Illusionist, as a highly recommended piece during this year's judging!!

I am so excited about it...!! Yaaay!

I was very happy with the story itself, but had very tough time to create the images which go with the story. But yes, my Illusionist used the magic really!!

My artwork will be displayed at their exhibition at Foyles book shop from 25th- 30th May.

Slow Life Slow Music

The latest work I did for a musician, Mick. This image is going to be a CD cover of her anniversary album!! I'm having a frustrating moment with my FMP, but this CD project was so much fun!
I will upload the final CD image once it is finished :D

I'm gonna redo the typography later, but yeah, it's one of my favorite recipes ever!!!
You should try it!!! So green, so fresh, so rich. . . so spring!!!

The Illusionist 2

Again, I am using the last minute to finish a book. . . And still want to adjust some details so badly!!!

My story of the Illusionist

So, once upon a time, there was a kingdom called "Today". . . That's how my new story starts.

I'm just loving the story I made, but visualizing story is so hard. . . 

My Black Cat

This is my cat, Fuku. Years ago, she came to our place from nowhere. 

Fuku means Good Luck in Japanese. Since people sometimes associate black cat with bad luck, we named her in order to get rid of this jinx from her :)

Logic will take you from A to B, but imagination will take you everywhere

They are my outcomes for 3 dimensional image making project. We were asked to chose one of given quotes and make some 3D object for it. As I was thinking about my quote, "Logic will take you from A to B, but imagination will take you everywhere", I came up with 4 different key words; doors, birds, telephone and traveling.
